QUOTATION: It is from numberless diverse
acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped.
Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to
improve the lot of others, or strikes out against
injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and
crossing each other from a million different centers
of energy and daring those ripples build a current
which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression
and resistance.

of Affirmation, address at the University of

QUOTATION:
I find the great thing in this world is not so much
where we stand, as in what direction we are moving:
To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes
with the wind and sometimes against it,but we
must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.

The
San Diego Democratic
Party
is Building a Blue Majority
|
|
San
Diego can no longer be called a "Republican county."
The gap between Republicans and Democrats in San Diego County
has narrowed by
35,000
voters since
the beginning of 2007. With gains each month, we're closing
in on a plurality.
Launched
in 2007, the County Party's
Donate Every Month program
(DEM)
now
provides a vital base to support our operations. Call 858-277-3367
to participate.
Our
Strategic Plan ensures
that the Party remains focused on long-term growth in candidate
development, infrastructure, election programs, communications,
and finance.

|
|
Our
Grassroots
Organizing Teamis
up to 575 members who talk to their precinct voters year
round in support of our Party and our candidates.
In
2008 we've begun to build a permanent, countywide file of
Voter
Data for our GO Team volunteers and endorsed
campaigns.
With
a full-time
staff
of three, the
County Party provides training, leadership, and logistical
support for year-round programs including voter registration,
precinct organizing, and community outreach.

The
San Diego Democratic
Party
is Showing Results
|
|
San
Diegans have been voting increasingly Democratic in presidential
elections since 1980. Our goal is to win a countywide majority
of votes for the Democratic nominee this November.
In
2006, four statewide
Democratic candidates carried San Diego County.
By comparison, no Democrats running statewide won here in
the prior gubernatorial election in 2002.
In
February's Presidential Primary, Democratic candidates received
more than 55%
of the vote in our county. The number of votes
for Democrats here was the second-largest in the state.
